Inspiration and Other Notes
Visiting the Jewish Cemetery in Prague, My mother in Danzig watching the start of the war, My father seeing the aftermath, Neo-nazis entering a café on Colditz marketplace, Eyes saw right through me in Meißen, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in Berlin.

I added a soundtrack to the 1927 Walther Ruttmann film, ‘BERLIN die Symphonie der Großstadt’, using Lou Reed's Berlin album as a framework, along with popular songs from Germany 1922-1933, punctuated by Nico's chilling rendition of the national anthem, and it is fascinating to see this classic piece of film alongside the 2002 interpretation.
